WHY RESURRECTION IS SO IMPORTANT IN OUR LIVES

DEATH. It is truly a consuming truth that every single person will someday face. For most of our lives it is a fleeting thought. Youth is indeed a time of looking forward to the promises of our future paths and purposes. The road ahead is full of goals, relationships, and bucket list items that give us excitement and joy. As one gets older, many of those bucket list items have been fulfilled in the physical realm. The Bible talks a lot about mankind and the consuming life of the Flesh. Flesh is indeed a two sided coin. It is where we find Joy, and it is also where we can be consumed with wrong choices, shallow pleasures, and SIN. One of the biggest challenges a Christian faces is seeing life from a SPIRITUAL perspective versus a FLESHLY perspective. The flesh is where we depend a great deal on our own ambitions and efforts. We assume our Throne and we design the moves and call the shots. The world constantly pushes the idea that we are in control; they help us with a variety of human driven moral decisions and misconstrued truths that often create confusion and disunity. The truth is that Every Religion apart from Biblical Christianity counts on OUR EFFORTS to achieve some sort of GOODNESS that just may buy us a ticket to our future. That future can be enlightenment, a place with some type of god, or entry into a mystical cosmos of who knows what. Biblical Christianity teaches just One Thing. JESUS CHRIST. The SON OF GOD who came to earth as a man, but also fully GOD. He came with a Purpose that would allow Mankind to reestablish a relationship with The GOD who created them/Us ! Jesus would grow from his birth into a rabbi who would spend three years gathering a group of twelve men and other followers who would eventually take His Story to ALL OF THE WORLD. It is the story of God’s Kingdom coming among us; God’s Word being shared and taught to everyone; Ending in Jesus being crucified, brought to death, buried in a tomb…and then, RESURRECTED BACK TO LIFE that WE MIGHT ALSO DEFEAT DEATH ITSELF ! Jesus opened the door for all humanity to EMBRACE ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH AND IN HIM ! The Cross was a place where GOD’S JUDGEMENT AND HIS MERCY AND GRACE COLLIDED….setting us FREE TO BE A NEW CREATION IN JESUS:) Our Sin HE BORE that we are forgiven and cleansed. SAVED FOR ALL ETERNITY, IF WE PLACE OUR BELIEF AND TRUST IN HIM. Surrender. His Will, not Ours. It is a place where OUR HEARTS must make a simple Choice. WE are His, or WE are not. Eternal Life with HIM, or Eternal Separation. The choice should be simple, but WHY is it so hard for some ?

JESUS SAID TO HER, “I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME, THOUGH HE DIE, YET SHALL HE LIVE, AND EVERYONE WHO LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NEVER DIE. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS ?” John 11:25-26

FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF MY FATHER, THAT EVERYONE WHO LOOKS ON THE SON AND BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, AND I WILL RAISE HIM UP ON THE LAST DAY. John 6:40

THAT I MAY KNOW HIM, AND THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION, AND MAY SHARE HIS SUFFERINGS, BECOMING LIKE HIM IN HIS DEATH. Philippians 3:10

Human Nature desires Control. Human vanity desires success and recognition as defined by the world. JESUS WAS NOT TRAPPED IN THE WORLD ! HE was able to navigate everything by being in constant communion with HIS FATHER, GOD. His essence of mankind did allow Him to see and feel all the things we experience in our lives. Happiness, sorrow, emotion, success, loss, relationships, temptations, anger, love…the whole experience. Amazing to be human in so many ways, and yet, know HIS PURPOSE AND PATH, despite how brutal it would be. WHY ? There is only One Answer. LOVE. PURE LOVE FOR US ! He gave His Life to God’s Righteous Judgement that WE MIGHT LIVE. Take that in DEEPLY, because it is something that nothing else this side of HEaven will offer you and me. It is our path to True Life Eternally….it is so puzzling why so many treat it lightly, scoff and mock at it’s implications, or flat our Reject It ! Proverbs tells us that Wisdom begins with THE FEAR OF GOD. Acknowledging HIM AS ALL AUTHORITY AND POWER. Folly is the other road. A wide road. An easy road. Sadly, that road leads to Death and Destruction. EASTER gives us the promise of a New Covenant Of LIFE. THE BLOOD OF JESUS CLEANSES US FROM SIN AND SETTLES OUR DEBT. HIS BLOOD GIVES US LIFE. His broken body took all the punishment that we so richly deserve. Acceptance of This Truth comes from our HEARTS, not our minds, or logic, or reason. It goes against the FLESH we reside in….but it is LIFE GIVING TRUTH ! DO YOU BELIEVE IT ? DO YOU BELONG TO JESUS ? ISN”T IT TIME TO MAKE YOUR CHOICE ?

AND MANY OF THOSE WHO SLEEP IN THE DUST OF THE EARTH SHALL AWAKE, SOME TO EVERLASTING LIFE, AND SOME TO SHAME AND EVERLASTING CONTEMPT. Daniel 12:2

FOR THE LORD HIMSELF WILL DESCEND FROM HEAVEN WITH A CRY OF COMMAND, WITH THE VOICE OF AN ARCHANGEL, AND WITH THE SOUND OF THE TRUMPET OF GOD. AND THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL RISE FIRST. 1 Thessalonians 4:16

RESURRECTION IS OUR HOPE. RESURRECTION IS OUR LIFE. JESUS CHRIST IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. May this Easter bring you to THE CROSS. May you lay down your struggles, your sin, your life, and EMBRACE THE SAVIOR, LORD,AND KING.
